Speechfilter

Speechfilters are sound boxes designed to help transcribers work with recordings that are unclear, contain background noise, or are too faint.

Speechfilters plug in to your computer headphone socket or cassette headphone socket; you then plug your headphones into the Speechfilter.

Speechfilters provide the following functions:

- reduce background noise that is outside of the usual vocal frequencies
- reduce cassette hiss
- boost volume
- reduce earache and headaches caused by the strain of listening to poor recordings
- option to switch off left or right sound channel that contains unwanted noise (e.g. time-code track) but still hear remaining channel in both speakers
